My creative process thrives in community with theatre makers, songwriters, poets, and neighbors in the Bay Area and beyond.

Some of the themes I've explored over recent years are social media's influence on art and culture; the joys and struggles of gender identity; parenting from the perspective of a trans woman; climate fiction and how to cope in an imagined apocalypse.

For my most recent project, I wrote short plays with a core group of writers, directors, comedians, actors, and dancers to create an immersive theater experience with live music. I acted and performed live music during this perennial series that ran weekly at the venue. The show was an intimate look into the lives, processes, and struggles of performing artists. The audience entered the venue and became part of the story, with an option to perform in the show onstage as well. Each week was a completely different show.

Some of my influences are Jane Wagner, Samuel Beckett, Tennessee Williams, Maria Irene Fornes, Caryl Churchill, Annie Baker, and Sarah Ruhl. I’m also continually inspired and influenced by my friend and collaborator on two projects, the sensational playwright, librettist, and more, Megan Cohen.
